The Creator’s Story

A life rebuilt with purpose.

As a sergeant in the military, Richard D. Cooks Sr. served his country for more than thirty years in places including Italy, the Hawaiian Islands and Haiti. Alongside his service, he built a family and a career in entertainment, hosting a weekly radio show while representing models and actors.

After an undetected tumor on his heart caused a massive stroke and emergency surgery, Richard faced brain damage, vision loss, body weakness and aphasia. That moment began an enlightening journey to beat the odds, rediscover himself and turn recovery into a mission.

Once an avid photographer, Richard rebuilt his mind so he could continue creating. He now uses his changed vision, adaptive athletics and personal story to encourage others who are facing their own recovery journey.
